How to: fix your piercing click rings

Having trouble with getting your click ring to close properly again? No worries, all it takes is an easy fix. We'll tell you how to re-align you click ring properly again, without the need of any additional tools.

Bent outwards or bent inwards

None of the above is ideal, since it will cause closing issues with your click ring. You can fix this by bending the click ring until both ends are re-aligned again, ensuring a secure fit. Use your fingers to fix your click rings. Click rings are usually slightly more pliable than other piercing rings, your fingers are the ideal tool for this.

Fix it: Click Ring bent too far inwards

If you change your piercing jewelry regularly, you might face some gentle warping of your click rings. This can cause the click ring to open at inconvenient times, resulting in the loss of your precious piercing jewelry. If your click ring is bent too far towards the outside, it won't close properly again. You can spot this issue by taking a close look at your click ring. The hinged segment of the ring sits inside the ring itself (see picture below). You can fix this by gently bending the base of the click ring towards the inside. Hold the base of your click ring between your fingers and pinch the click ring between your thumb and index finger, until the ends are properly re-aligned.

Bent open too far: the hinged segment sits inside ring.

Fix it: gently bend the ring until the ends are properly aligned again.

Fixed! The ring clicks securely shut again.

Fix it: Click Ring bent too far outwards

Pinched the click ring a bit too hard? This will make it impossible to close the ring again. You can spot this issue by taking a close look at your click ring. The hinged segment of the ring sits outside the ring itself (see picture below). You can fix this by gently bending the base of the click ring towards the outside. Hold the base of your click ring between your fingers and pull the ends apart, until they are properly aligned again.

Bent too far inwards: the hinged segment sits on the outside of the ring and won't close properly.

Fix it: pull the base of the ring apart until the ends are aligned again.

Fixed! The ring closes properly again.

Tension-check

Make sure your ring closes properly again before you start wearing your piercing clickers. You should be able to open and close the click ring with a small bit of effert. If there is not enough tension on the closing mechanism of the ring, the ring might open too easily. Do a tension-check and adjust the click ring when necessary. All good? Enjoy your piercing jewelry!
